Me - Old and New

I've started my fashion obsession not so long time ago. Actually, when I was younger, pre-teen to be more precise, I used to have a pretty tomboy style. I’d wear only loose pants and t-shirt and I’d never ever wear a dress, shorts, skirts or high heels. Now, what a difference: I can’t image myself without some nice dresses and skirts. Like I always say: never say never. The world goes around and now I realize that even back in time I had an unconscious reason for behaving like that: I just wanted to be different from everybody else, that normal rebel attitude. During those days, I didn’t perceive that being trendy is not really associated with being similar to everyone else. It was difficult to me to associate fashion with being different.

Now, I realize that fashion is all about personality. It’s also a genuine way to express ourselves. We don’t  need to assimilate everything which is out there. We only need to find the right pieces which reflect us and make them become an unique part of ourselves. Remember my tomboy style? It’s not dead. I incorporated it in my daily life; however, my style is also a bit girlie. I discovered how fun it is to mix everything. So, sometimes I wake up girlier than others. Or, sometimes, I want to mix up everything and I end up putting up an outfit which is boyish, girlie, social and casual all at the same time. Is this even possible? Of course it is but you have to be true to yourself and follow your instinct otherwise it wouldn’t be genuine and, as a result, it wouldn’t be you. Check out this photo I chose to illustrate this post: sarouel pants, blazer suit, striped t-shirt, briefcase and open boots = chic, boyish and girlie. Amazing, isn’t it?
